Device Modeling Engineer (m/f/d)

Job description

X-FAB is looking for a Device Modeling Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Process Characterization team, based in Erfurt (Ger) or Dresden (Ger) or Corbeil-Essonnes (Fr), or Kuching (MYS)  for working as part of an international organization.

  • Characterization and analysis of micro-electronic devices
  • Development of accurate device models and addressing model issues
  • Performance of device model extraction from measurement data
  • Implementation of  technical documentation for new device development
  • Generation, calibration and verification of spice model parameters and to ensure quality of results
  • Support methodology development to permanently improve accuracy of models including statistical methods and reliability aspects
  • Support of interconnect model verification and layout parasitic extraction
  • Development of test structures, test chip layouts  including verification
  • Design of simple and complex (circuit block level) test structures for model creation and model verification
  • To contribute to a further development and maintenance of an optimized modeling infrastructure (Hardware/Software)

Job requirements

  • PhD/Master degree in Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Microelectronic) or related subjects
  • Experience in key modeling tools (ICCAP, MBP, BsimProPlus)
  • Extended knowledge of the basic semiconductor devive physics, manufacturing, characterization and measurement
  • Extended knowledge of device simulations environments incl. pre-/post-layout challenges (SPICE), parasitic extraction and design verification
  • Experience in programming (Python, R, SKILL), in data analysis and statistical methods
  • Experience in RF-/HV-, Reliability, Matching, Noise characterization
  • Understanding the requirements of analog design, ageing, matching and noise
