Answers to your questions

Here are some typical questions that often come up when applicants think about applying for a job at X-FAB.

If your question is not answered below, you can always contact the HR specialists at our sites directly.

  • Do you prefer to receive applications via email?

An email application is faster than applying by mail and is our preferred form of application. You also save the cost of printing and mailing your application documents. In addition, by not sending your application by mail, you save on emissions, which has a positive impact on our environmental footprint. However, you can also send us your application by mail. Any letter of application is also welcome and will be processed.

  • When should I apply and what are the deadlines for applying for a job with X-FAB?

You can apply for a job with us at any time. There are normally no closing dates for jobs at X-FAB (for external postings). As soon as a job is filled, we remove it from our website. We welcome applications for all vacancies currently listed on our website. If you don’t find a suitable job, we are also open to unsolicited applications.

  • What should I include in my application portfolio?

Your portfolio should include a cover letter, a gapless resume and copies of all of your qualifications and references.

  • How much will I be paid?

Pay is negotiated on an individual basis. Please therefore state your salary expectations in your application. We have fixed remuneration rates for apprentices and trainees.

  • How does your application procedure work?

Our human resources (HR) team reviews every application closely. Afterwards the hiring department is included and receives your application. Depending on your qualifications and your skills as well as the fit to the job requirements we will invite you for an initial interview, which is usally a "get to know you" meeting. You will meet some of your future co-workers and will be able to question them (and us) directly about working at X-FAB.

  • What documents do you need for my application?

In the first step, a curriculum vitae (CV) is required. If there is anything else you would like to tell us about how you match the current position you can include a cover letter, but this is not mandatory. All other documents such as letters of reference and diplomas can be submitted later.

How to apply

Are job applications a closed book to you? Don’t worry – help is at hand. You simply need to follow a few basic rules. And then nothing should stand in your way.

What should go into a job application?

As a rule, an application consists of three sections: Cover Letter, Resume and References.

Cover page

The first page of your application will either be the cover letter or a separate cover page.

Cover letter

This is where you introduce yourself to the employer. In the letter, you should explain why you are interested in this job position and why you are the best candidate.

Résumé / CV

Make sure to include the following information: Your name, address, details of your school education and specialist knowledge, previous jobs, internships, voluntary work etc. Dates should have no gaps and be organized chronologically.

References

All of the statements that you make in your resume should be backed up by references or certificates.

Important: Never send originals!

Paper application or email?

Whether snail mail or electronic mail – both formats are welcome. For email applications, aim to save your documents in PDF format. This ensures that printouts of your application always look the same.
