High Voltage Device and Process Development Engineer (m/f/d)

Job Description

X-FAB is looking for a HV Device and Process Development Engineer to join our Process Development team, based in Erfurt, Germany, but working as part of an international organization developing mixed signal CMOS technologies. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Development of semiconductor devices, mainly HV devices
  • Define semiconductor process flows and device architectures
  • TCAD Simulation of devices and processes
  • Definition, implementation and evaluation of experiments, using Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology
  • Development and design of test structures
  • Electrical characterization of HV transistors
  • Process integration and cooperation with other departments within X-FAB
  • Offer technical support to customers
  • Cooperation with external partners (e.g. in funded projects)
  • Management of development projects, working in interdisciplinary and international teams
     

Job Requirements

Qualification:

  • Master of Engineering in Physics, Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering or related subject; PhD would be beneficial
  • Min. 3 years experience in development, functionality, manufacturing, characterization and application of semiconductor devices, preferably HV devices

Technical/ Functional Competencies:

  • Good understanding of semiconductor device physics.
  • Understanding of methodologies for process development. 
  • Knowledge or experience on the function, fabrication and characterization of semiconductor devices.  
  • Understanding of design rules and the impact of device characteristics on product performance.
  • Experience in project work.
  • Trained in the formal use of Design-of-Experiments and statistical techniques.
  • Familiarity with TCAD and test structure design would be advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience of HV devices, including know-how with regard to electrical parameter improvement, ESD, device reliability
