Job Description
Function/Duties:
Provide equipment engineering support. Work to improve equipment availability, scrap, and cost of ownership. Interface with manufacturing, process engineering, vendors, and others in the equipment engineering group to resolve equipment and production problems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the Equipment Engineering group’s PLC programs
- Have the ability to repair and maintain process equipment
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering groups, and vendors regarding process and production problems
- Identify and correct root causes of scrap and chronic downtime
- Train new employees and assist technicians as needed
- Become an expert on equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Set PM schedules and procedures and stock levels for spare parts
Current Skills/Competencies:
- Proficiency in PLC programming and their implementation, prefer GE software and Keyence Ladder Builder
- Proficiency with HMI Display programming and implementation, i.e. Red Lion, Maple Systems
- Ability to program in any variation of “C coding”, i.e. C, C+, C++
- Knowledge of high voltage systems and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of high vacuum systems and troubleshooting a plus
- Ability to safely handle process chemicals
- Good verbal and written communication skills; good problem solving and decision making skills
- Must be a proven team player and self-starter
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Skills Background: B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience in a technical field.
