Maintenance/Equipment Buyer (M/F/D)

Job Purpose

Lead the purchasing (CAPEX, OPEX) of products based on specifications defined by management and internal stakeholders. Select products and suppliers, negotiate the best purchasing terms (quality, price, delivery times), and manage and develop the assigned portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

1. Managing Purchasing Activities

  • Analyze the market and company needs related to the assigned portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define specifications and estimate associated budgets.
  • Develop a purchasing strategy aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Manage tender processes and evaluate supplier proposals.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks associated with purchases before contract signature.
  • Ensure profitability and performance of purchases by integrating key indicators (total cost of ownership, ROI, etc.).
  • Conduct negotiations on commercial terms (price, quality, delivery times, payment conditions) and finalize agreements in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Draft, oversee, and execute supplier contracts in coordination with legal and financial departments.
  • Oversee the logistics of strategic purchases and investments (CAPEX) from order placement to payment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of purchasing processes and performance metrics.

2. Managing and Developing the Portfolio

  • Identify and mitigate legal and financial risks associated with purchases.
  • Resolve commercial and financial disputes with suppliers independently.
  • Monitor contracts, stocks, and supplier relationships.
  • Build and develop a network of strategic suppliers to establish long-term partnerships and ensure alternative purchasing opportunities.
  • Perform regulatory monitoring to adapt practices to legal and normative changes.

3. Sharing Knowledge and Expertise

  • Share best practices, train, and support internal teams in understanding purchasing processes.

Candidate Profile

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of purchasing processes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in market analysis and supplier management tools.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and track purchasing performance metrics.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in purchasing, logistics, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial environment.
