Job description
Function/Duties:
Design and maintain electrical systems from 120V – 23kV. Work with vendors to provide very high-quality power to the site.
Responsibilities:
• Testing, maintaining and operation of low to medium voltage systems ranging from the following:
• 480/277V electrical systems
• 2400V electrical systems
• 12.47 kV electrical systems
• 23kV/12.47kV 10MVA transformers
• Generating electrical schematics, bills of materials, and cost analysis
• Specifying electrical hardware
• Creating new design solutions that meet electrical code
• Participating in process improvement/cost reduction teams
• Working with varied groups in investigation and integration of new technologies to aid with the performance of electrical and control systems
• May include supervision of maintenance employees.
Current Skills/Competencies:
• Knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 120/208V to 23kV systems
• Knowledge of Arc fault system analysis of electrical systems.
• Knowledge and experience on the design, programming of VFDs
• Familiarity with regulations and electrical codes.
• Knowledge of basic control diagrams
• Knowledge of control devices and instrumentation:
• Sensors
• Transducers
• Field Wiring
• Knowledge and experience on the design, programming of PLCs
• Knowledge of Human Machine Interface design Techniques (SCADA Systems)
• Inductive Automation Ignition program preferred
• Ability to work with others on a team to accomplish goals.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Maintain detailed and accurate records and prepare clear and concise written reports.
• Ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to the solution of electrical equipment, buildings and infrastructure.
Job requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related and/or technical field
- Experience with MS Office
- Professional registration - EIT and/or PE preferred
