Customer Quality Engineer

Job description

JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer Customer Quality

Functions / Duties:

  • Customer Quality Issues Coordination/Investigation into customer quality issues including compilation of 8D reports, corrective and preventive actions and presentation, as necessary, to customers via email, through conference calls and/or during on-site meetings.
  • Quality Management System Documentation as it relates specifically to incoming critical materials and substrate device controls.
  • Scrap System Coordination/Facilitation/Investigations including follow up of corrective and preventive actions to ultimately provide customer satisfaction regarding the product quality.
  • Audit System as internal auditor and preparation for customer and corporate audits
  • Overall XFAB continual improvement and compliance gap identification and problem solving (primarily project based)

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management System documentation and controls associated with incoming critical controls.
  • Coordination and upkeep of the activities related to internal Scrap system including facilitation, data request, follow up of actions for prevention and continual improvement and recordkeeping monitoring.
  • Working with Product, Process and Equipment Engineers, customers, suppliers and other internal and external organizations to insure accomplishment of job requirements.
  • Customer issue management responsibilities including investigation, root cause analysis, 8D compilation and action follow-up.
  • Assistance and performance as an internal auditor in support of quality system improvement initiatives.
  • Other Quality System duties as required
  • Self starter (takes initiative)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and prioritization skills and ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Able to break down complex technical issues and communicate them to non-technical people.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor process flows and Process Integration
  • Technically curious, hard worker, ability to articulate information easily.
  • Logical, data-based, analytical approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to solve problems in a team environment. A good listener.
  • Meticulous recordkeeping ability
  • Must have the ability to deal with several concurrent issues with deadlines.
  • Excellent Organization skills
  • Experience in manufacturing with knowledge of process and quality control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and process control applications preferred.
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel (including V-Lookup and Pivot Tables) and Word required. Access and SharePoint is preferred.
  • Familiarity/experience with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949. Auditor certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, 8D and SPC preferred.

Job requirements

Minimum Educational Requirements:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, EE Technology, Physics, Engineering Physics, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience in same or similar technical field.
