Als Director Photonics übernehmen Sie die Leitung und Weiterentwicklung der Photonik-Aktivitäten von X-FAB mit starkem Fokus auf die Weiterentwicklung der XPH90-Plattform, heterogene Integrationstechnologien sowie die Entwicklung optischer Bauelemente, einschließlich Lichtquellen, Photodioden und Modulatoren. Sie treiben strategische Kooperationen mit Partnern wie Ligentec und führenden RTOs (z. B. imec) voran und spielen eine zentrale Rolle bei der Bewertung von Kundenanforderungen und der Definition technischer Lösungen. Sie berichten direkt an den VP BU Microsystems.
Strategische und organisatorische Führung
- Aufbau und Weiterentwicklung einer interdisziplinären Photonik-Engineering-Organisation (Bauelemente, Integration, Prozesse, Modellierung, Packaging) mit Teams in Erfurt (Deutschland) und Corbeil (Frankreich).
- Definition und Umsetzung der Technologie- und Entwicklungsroadmap für Siliziumphotonik, heterogene Integration und fortschrittliche optische Komponenten.
- Etablierung effizienter Entwicklungsprozesse, Workflows und Infrastrukturen zur Sicherstellung einer robusten und termingerechten Technologieentwicklung.
Technologieverantwortung
- Gesamtverantwortung für die Weiterentwicklung der XPH90 Siliziumphotonik-Plattform, einschließlich:
- Lichtquellen
- Photodioden
- Modulatoren
- Vorantreiben von Aktivitäten zur heterogenen Integration, u. a. mittels Waferbonding, Micro-Transfer-Printing und fortschrittlichen Co-Packaging-Architekturen.
- Sicherstellung, dass Bauelemente zuverlässig funktionieren und fertigungstauglich im Hinblick auf Kunden- und Marktanforderungen sind.
Partnerschaften & Ökosystementwicklung
- Führung der strategischen Zusammenarbeit mit Ligentec mit Fokus auf gemeinsame Technologieentwicklung und Nutzung deren Siliziumnitrid-Plattform.
- Steuerung von Technologiepartnerschaften mit RTOs zur Beschleunigung von Innovationen und Stärkung der Entwicklungspipeline.
- Enge Zusammenarbeit mit internen Teams, u. a. Process Integration, Yield Engineering und Quality, über die Standorte Erfurt und Corbeil hinweg zur Sicherstellung von Alignment und Umsetzung.
Kundeninteraktion & technische Lösungen
- Bewertung von Kundenanforderungen, einschließlich technischer Machbarkeitsanalysen, Integrationsanforderungen und Risikobewertungen.
- Steuerung der Entwicklung technischer Lösungen, z. B. Architekturvorschläge, Technologieempfehlungen und Entwicklungsplanung.
- Teilnahme an Kundenterminen, technischen Reviews und Designbewertungen.
- Unterstützung von Business Development und Vertrieb bei Messen, Konferenzen und Kundeninteraktionen.
Innovation & kontinuierliche Verbesserung
- Definition der zukünftigen Strategie und Roadmap für Photoniktechnologien bei X-FAB.

Dein Profil:
- Bachelor-, Master- oder Promotionsabschluss in Elektrotechnik, Physik, Photonik, Materialwissenschaften oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet.
- Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Entwicklung photonischer Bauelemente oder Siliziumphotonik-Technologien, inklusive Prozess- und Bauelementwissen.
- Nachgewiesene Erfahrung in der Führung standortübergreifender technischer Teams, idealerweise mit direkter Linienverantwortung über Erfurt und/oder COR hinweg oder in vergleichbaren Strukturen sowie im Management komplexer F&E-Programme.

- Strong experience in customer-facing roles with deep understanding of the semiconductor market
- Proven experience in leading distributed teams and support offices across multiple locations; first experience in leading international sales or account teams is highly desirable
- Solid technical background with basic knowledge of semiconductor physics, process technologies and analog and/or digital circuit design

Legal Counsel (m/f/d)
ProcurementWe are looking for a
Legal Counsel (m/f/d) with special interest in global trade complianceto support our team in Tessenderlo-Ham. In this critical role, you will ensure compliance with complex and evolving trade laws that directly impact advanced technology and sensitive components.
You will work in close partnership with the General Counsel, liaise with external legal experts, and act as a key point of contact for the entire X-FAB Group worldwide. The role requires a blend of legal insight, regulatory vigilance, and practical coordination with engineering, logistics, and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities
Assess and advise on liabilities, legal restrictions and risks of proposed transactions and develop practical solutions to meet commercial needs
Stay current with and interpret changes in export control laws, trade sanctions, and tariffs, particularly those targeting advanced technologies and materials.
Collaborate directly with the General Counsel and external counsel on licensing requirements, regulatory interpretations, and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with EU Dual-Use Regulation, US EAR (Export Administration Regulations), ITAR, and other global trade controls affecting semiconductor technologies.
Support the creation and improvement of internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure robust and auditable compliance systems.
Deliver training and awareness sessions to internal stakeholders (R&D, operations, logistics, sales) on export compliance obligations.
Provide ad hoc legal advice on strategic projects.

Qualifications & Skills
Master of Law combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a multinational organisation as in-house counsel or trade compliance expert or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent command of English (C2 level) is required; knowledge of German or French is a strong advantage.
Sound understanding of semiconductor supply chains, sensitive technologies, and dual-use items is preferred.
Ability to work independently, structure your own learning and development, and ask the right questions when needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to translate complex regulations into actionable guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.

Bei der Pore-Ätzung werden in die Nitrid-Membran Löcher geätzt. Die Ätzung muss auf dem darunter liegenden Oxid stoppen. Wenn das Oxid überätzt wird, ist es nicht mehr möglich den Wafer weiter zu bearbeiten und der Wafer wird verschrottet.
Bei einer Versuchsreihe soll hier der bestehende Prozess optimiert werden.
Der Bearbeiter soll mit verschiedenen Parameteränderungen an einigen Versuchswafern die restliche Nitrid-/Oxiddicke und das Ätzmaß bestimmen, um seine Versuche zu beurteilen.
Ziel:
- Verbesserung der Homogenität
- Selektivere Ätzung: Siliziumnitrid zu Siliziumdioxid
- Ätzmaß (lateral) soll gleichbleiben
